All good things come to an end

Today is officially my last day of Christmas break.
From here on out it's just the normal weekend & then it's back to school on Monday. I'm not sure how to feel about this. On the one hand I'm semi-excited to find out what my classes are like & get closer to being done, but on the other hand I've LOVED the month off. It'll be good for me to get back into more productive things though so that's good. I just hope this semester won't finish me off!
.
Here are the classes I'm taking:
ACC 230-Accounting
MAT 211-Calculus II for business majors
PHI 103-Principles of sound reasoning
SOC 101-Sociology
DAN 130-Jazz dance taken at CGCC (I'm waaay excited for this)
.
Thanks to good old ratemyprofessors.com I was able to pick the best teachers I could & the only class I'm scared for is my accounting one cuz the teacher is apparently beastly. I'm sure it'll work out in the end. Go Devils.

Shut up and drive

I've been driving a lot lately, to places like Flagstaff, Peoria & Glendale, so I've had lots of time to think & I've come to many realizations about driving & drivers. Here's what I've discovered:
.
I have really weak butt muscles. You might not think this applies to driving, but oh yes it does. After driving for a few hours I cramp up sooo badly from pushing the pedal. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but either way it's not fun.
.
There are way too many rude & impatient drivers in the world. When I'm already going 10 miles over the speed limit it is NOT ok to tail me as close as you can and flash your lights at me when there's plenty of room in the next lane to pass me. It makes driving really stressful because then I have to worry about going fast enough without speeding too much so I don't get a ticket, & if I'm on a two lane highway I have to worry about going in the right lane so they can pass but then go back to the left because the right lane is too slow, only to have some other rude person get behind me. Stupid people.
.
Driving past 10:00 at night is heaven for me. When it's late at night & there's a good song on the radio & I'm driving fast on an open freeway that winds around, it's magic. I look forward to driving home from certain places when it's late because I know I'll be able to have these moments. It makes me feel motivated & love life for some reason. Plus it makes me reflect on life. It's weird but I love it.
.
I'm kind of a distracted driver. I'm an observer & I've always enjoyed looking out at the things that we drive past during car rides, & that hasn't changed now that I'm the one driving. Tempe Marketplace at night is a car accident waiting to happen. Have you seen it from the 202?? It's like an eye magnet & I swear I'm gonna get into a fender bender from looking at it. Also, when I'm driving where all of the overpasses are I just can't help but look out over the city & the windy overpasses below me. I really don't know how I haven't had an accident yet because of this. Hmm.
.
I'm really grateful that my car gets good gas mileage. Because as it is I want to cry at how fast the little needle has been going down.
.
I don't mind driving, but I get really impatient when driving long distances. I get sick of things easily so if I'm not where I want to be in at least a half an hour then I get annoyed. Good thing I'm not a truck driver.
.
I wish I could blog while I drove because that's when I think of all of the things I want to say. Unfortunately it almost all goes away as soon as I'm done driving so you're stuck with these pointless blogs. Oh well. With technology going the way it is I'm sure I'll be able to do that pretty soon anyway!
.
That's all.
.
Goodbye.
.
(I've americanized my farewells so for now the adios is adios)

So...

Christmas was fun.
Flagstaff was fun.
New Year's was fun.
It was all fun.
.
I really quite enjoy having a month off of school & I still have one more week left. Here is what I've done so far.
.
WARNING: LARGE quantities of pictures follow. Seriously. Buckle up.
.
Christmas
Melanie & Josh came down & we did things like decorate cookies, open presents together & hike
.
Flagstaff
The Thursday after Christmas some friends & I decided to go on a road trip to Flagstaff. It was so much fun! We didn't go snowboarding or anything but we did get to play in some snow. With broken pieces of sled & cardboard that we found. But someone before us had made some snow ramps so that was cool & fun.
(Oh ya, if you want to stay dry: Saran wrap baby. It totally works)
.
New Year's
I went to my cousin Justin's & his wife Amy's apartment for some funness. We ate & played games. That's what I call fun! No pictures though. Sorry
.
The Office
I can't believe I did it, but I watched every single episode of the office for the first time. It took quite a lot of trips to Blockbuster. It's pretty darn funny though. Jim, Pam & Dwight are kind of my heroes. & now I have one more major celebrity crush to add to the list: John Krasinski. He replaces Wentworth easily as number one.
.
Scrapbooking
This year I decided to make presents for friends that involved scrapbooking. It was fun but very time consuming & I was about to shoot myself if I had to trace, cut or glue anything else. For two people I made little journals & for another friend I made a little quote book thing.
They're not the best & some of the pages bug me, but oh well.
.
So that's what I've been up to! Oh, & I went to my first Suns game tonight!! They lost but it was still way fun.
.
Time for me to sleep. Goodbye.

Monday, December 17

Oh ya, so I got tagged

I'm it. Kim so nicefully (nicefully, I like that word) tagged me so now you get to know five more things about me you probably didn't want to know! Be entertained. Here goes.
.
1. I'm a horrible reader.

I'm slow & it can take me like 5 tries to understand what I'm reading if it's semi-difficult. Words & me just don't get along. In AP English (which is based on reading books) I didn't read a single one all the way through. I think I need to find the creator of sparknotes & give him a check or something.
.

2. I don't like pancakes.

They require syrup, which I really don't like. Gross I think I'm getting sick thinking about them.
.

3. I watched Barney til I was like 8.

Whenever I was sick & stayed home from school I'd watch it. Of course I pretended to hate it but oh how I enjoyed that purple dancing singing dinosaur.
.

4. I enjoy celebrity gossip.

It's lame, none of my business & probably not even halfway true, but I still can't resist the urge to glance excitedly through a magazine while waiting to check out. Sadly, I'm pretty sure I've even said things like, "I can't believe she's dating him" a few times. Maybe more than a few.
.

5. Walking through Ulta makes me drool.

That's a figure of speech people. I don't really drool. But I do wish that I could buy one of everything in the store. Even if I don't need anything, when I walk through any cosmetic section all I think is "I WANT". I have pretty good shopping self-control, but if I gave in it would most likely be at a place like that.
.

Well, that's five. Thank goodness too because I can't think of anything else whatsoever. I'm supposed to tag 5 more people but that's probably more than who read my blog! So if you read this, consider yourself tagged.

on overload

2 down
2 to go
.
.
The stress is catching up to me

Thursday, December 6

random post of happiness

1 final down
3 more to go
.
& despite the fact that I have a monstrous lump of something stuck in my throat that's choking me & driving me insane,
I've been super happy the last few days!!
.
I'm way excited for the future & having my own apartment/house that I can decorate & having my own family!
.
Even with the finals coming & being sick all week I haven't been stressed at all. It's insane.
.
Plus, I must have gotten wacked in the face with a crafty stick in my sleep cuz suddenly I want to do EVERYTHING crafty like sew things with patterns, make scrapbook journals, decorate cakes, make necklaces, etc etc. I spent an hour at Michael's just walking through the isles & dreaming.
.
If anyone has ideas for cute crafty christmas presents, throw em at me!
Well, time to study for tomorrow's final.
.
Adios yos
.
p.s. I'm totally a fan of Christmas again. I can't wait for it! I love buying/making presents for people.

A-S-U!!

Me: Hey guess what?
Blogger friends: What Amy?
Me: I went to my very first ASU football game on Saturday!!
Blogger friends: No way! How exciting! What was the weather like?
Me: Freezing.
Well, it's true my friends. I can now call myself a real Sun Devil. So, when I asked my friend where our seats were and she said the student section, what she really meant was those one seats that are so high you have to hike to get to them and you can touch the airplanes. But it's ok because it was TONS of fun. They even won just for me. Oh, & where we sat was right where basically ALL of the U of A fans sat, so that was pretty fun! People can get crazy defensive though. All weekend before the game I was sick with some sore throat thing so going in the cold and screaming my lungs out (I had to, I couldn't let the wildcats outcheer us!!) probably wasn't the best idea. My voice is still lost. Here are some pictures I took to commemorate the experience. There aren't many, and none of them are really any good, But they're all I have.
(the purpose of this picture is to show that I was so cold that I was desperate enough to put my hood up. That's extreme)
I decided next year I'm getting season tickets. I'm a fanatic at heart.
